Their very first home in Fairhope just happened to be within walking distance to a well-known equestrian training facility at the time, Fox Run Equestrian Center.
That seed blossomed first into English riding lessons, then graduated into the leasing of her first horse at age Ten and culminated with her showing and competing in 3 day events all across the Southeast.
She gave up riding competitively when enrolled at Auburn University in the fall of 2008, yet to this day no place gives her greater peace like a round-pen with her horse, explaining that: "There is a special bond that is communicated in that space between her and her horse.".

She entered Auburn with her sights set on becoming a Veterinarian, yet her experiences at the vet school left her heartbroken.
Between the fear in the eyes of the patients, and the loss of those the school could not save.
She ultimately decided to take a break from her collegiate studies, embracing the fact that the once defined trajectory of her life had suddenly evolved into an introspective journey of rediscovery.
For Mallorie, there was no better place to gain perspective and enlightenment than the military.
Not only did she enlist, she chose to challenge herself to the fullest by selecting the United States Marine Corps.

After completing helicopter mechanic training in Jacksonville, North Carolina, she was stationed Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii and then MCAS Miramar in San Diego, with two deployments to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom.
