Our Story:.
I am a 31 year old stay at home mother of 3, who spends a great deal of time volunteering at my children's elementary school.
Back in mid-April of this year while volunteering in the school's front office I met a beautiful little girl named Madeleine.

She wasn't feeling very well that day so her mother was on her way to pick her up.
To help entertain her while she waited I let her watch a movie on my iPhone.
She seemed to really enjoy it so I asked her if she owned an iPod to which she responded in the sweetest little voice, "no ma'am".
After getting her mother Amber's permission I promised to bring her one that I had at home.

About a week later, the day before Madeleine and her mother were leaving for a trip to Wolfson Children's Hospital, my then 10-year-old daughter Gaby gave Madeleine her old iPod.
This brought the biggest smile to Madeleine's tiny face and I wanted to do so much more for her.
But what could I do? .
A few days later with Madeleine's big smile still on my mind I looked up her mother's blog.
I learned that this hospital was new to Madeleine and Amber and while it certainly had its perks, a new hospital was going to take some getting use to.
It was the small things for Amber like trying to find a cup of coffee, or a straw, or a quiet place when you don't know where anything is.
For Madeleine it was the playroom.
She missed the playroom toys from her previous hospital.
And in that moment, it hit me like a bolt of lightning, a toy drive!.
The next day I spoke with our school's principal and got his approval to organize a toy drive to stock Madeleine's hospital's playroom.
Then I emailed Amber to ask for her's and Madeleine's permission.
They were both on board! .
I asked my husband and children to help me come up with a name for our toy drive.
We brainstormed for hours and then it just came to me, MAD LOVE.
I sent and email with this name along with a few others to Amber and she replied, " Hmmm...I like "Mad Love." I like the word play with her name".
Done!.
The ladies in the front office, along with Madeleine's teacher and our school nurse Hannah, offered to help me pay for and order wristbands that read "MAD LOVE Smiles for Small Soldiers".
The "Smiles for Small Soldiers" was all Hannah's idea ☺.

Amber put me in contact with the right people to talk to at Wolfson Children's Hospital and the response was amazing.
They immediately offered to assist in any and every way they could and have been so extremely helpful! .
But it wasn't until after I started this Facebook page that I realized just how much people LOVE Madeleine and want to help in any way they can to honor her.
.
Team MAD LOVE is bigger and stronger than I could have ever hoped for.
The generosity, support and love I've witnessed coast to coast is like nothing I've ever seen! My plan is for this to be the first of many years to come for MAD LOVE.

None of this would be possible without the love and support of Madeleine's friends and family.
