Detailed description is My name is Melody and I am a loving mother of three wonderful children, ages 4 years old, 2.5 years old, and 8 months old.
I am a certified teacher and member of the OCT in good standing, with a valid police check and up to date Emergency CPR level C and AED certificate.
My love of children and passion for education encouraged me to open my own home daycare.

My goal is to provide dependable, reliable, quality care by creating an enriching, loving, and nurturing environment for your child(ren) to learn and grow.
My daycare provides a friendly and comfortable home atmosphere, where children can feel free to be themselves, play, interact, learn, grow and have fun! I strongly believe that children learn best through play, hands on activities, and interaction.
Therefore, my daycare provides a play based learning environment for children that is stimulating, fun, and educational.
Through play children develop physical, emotional, social, cognitive, and creative skills that help further develop and enhance their problem solving, decision making, social, and communication skills.
My daily program includes: circle time, story time, music, songs, free play, arts and crafts, games, themed activities, structured learning (focus placed on learning numbers, colours, and the ABC's), quiet time/naps, and outdoor exploration and adventure (weather permitting).
There is a big park around the corner from my house, and in the nice weather I like to take the children for walks to explore the outdoors..

At the end of each week I will send home a calendar of what we will be doing the following week (activities and special days) that will help keep you informed of your child(ren)s time here and any special upcoming events.
I like to have themed days (pajama day, dress up day, once a month movie Friday's, celebrations for birthdays/holidays, wear your costume for Halloween, etc.) This calendar will help parents keep track of special/themed days..

Each day your child(ren) will go home with a daily journal, so that you can see what they ate that day, if they napped, and be aware of what they did that day..

MEALS:.
I prepare healthy and nutritious home-made snacks (two daily) and lunch for your child(ren).
If your child requires a special diet, meals will have to be supplied..
*If you require an earlier drop off than 7:00am, a healthy breakfast will be provided..

HOURS:.
My hours are Monday to Friday 7:00am to 6:00pm, however, I am flexible if you require an earlier start time..

PAYMENTS:.
Payments are due every Friday at the time of pick up.
If you arrange for someone else to pick up your child on Friday, please provide payment at the time of drop off.
Receipts will be given at the end of each month, as well as, the year end for tax purposes..

CLOSURES:.
My daycare will be closed for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day, and all statutory and civic holidays..
*In the event that care is needed for a civic or statutory holiday please discuss with me in advance..

I also take one or two weeks vacation each year, but will provide parents with two months notice, so that they can make alternate arrangements..
