Detailed description is Our mission is to get children in tune with the natural world around them, by providing an outdoor classroom for children so that they might have the opportunity to use the natural world as an integral part of their learning.
We have been busy building, planning, and transforming the Williams Family Farm into a wonderful space where children may explore, learn, and find pleasure in each day.
We also believe that children grow and learn best in a family-inspired atmosphere where each child is given the opportunity to develop their own sense of self-worth..
Located on forty seven acres of farm land, there is always a bounty of natural materials to peak a child’s interest and teach them the importance of good health and physical well-being.
We believe that children these days don’t spend enough time outdoors.
So by incorporating the use of an outdoor classroom into our curriculum, the kids will have life impacting experiences that will last forever..
Nature discovery is an important part of every child’s learning process and we believe that through opportunities such as caring for the animals on the farm, planting and caring for a garden, creating in the nature art area, making music and dancing to nature inspired rhythms, and through quiet, informative walks on the nature trail, children learn through hands-on, true experiences what a beautiful world we live in.
The children also learn to take care of and respect their planet Earth for the future by recycling, reusing objects for art projects, and by making better choices that will positively affect themselves and the Earth..
Some of our features include plantings for the children to explore, identify, and enjoy such as black walnut trees, mini native evergreens, pear, fig, and apple trees, grape vines, butterfly bushes, wisteria, and various woodland trees and shrubs.
There is a catfish pond on the nature trail where children can stop, watch, and feed the catfish.
The nature trail is an exciting exhibit to Little Folks Farm that includes sunny green spaces, shaded areas, bird baths and feeders, various natural materials, food plots, and planted gardens.
Children will have the chance to discover and explore wildlife and plants in their natural habitat.
