Detailed description is Breast feeding our daughter I discovered a lump in my left breast.
After a visit to the doctor for a baby check-up, my family doctor was concerned enough to send me directly to the hospital for a biopsy.
1 week later I was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 33, our daughter only 10 months; my life would change dramatically.
I had to stop breast feeding so that I could have a mastectomy.
12 glands were removed and 6 were "involved".
I underwent Chemotherapy, radiation and found a new & deeper relationship with God..

After several years I decided to try implants.
This did not work and I underwent surgery for reconstruction.
I was happy with the results.
13 years went by and without missing a mammogram, I found myself in the same situation but this time the cancer was caught in its early stages.
Another mastectomy and 6 weeks of radiation, I did not hesitate to have reconstruction surgery again, this time on my right breast..

So far I am cancer free, living life, have a deeper faith, thanking God for his love and guidance.
My husband, family and friends have been supportive and I can't thank them enough for helping me through this time.

Now it's my time to help those who are struggling with this disease.
I only can pray that I can find the right words, direct them to care and support groups that can help them through their journey with cancer..
