The Legal Center for Nonprofits (LCN) builds capacity in our region’s nonprofit community in two ways: (1) Educational programming for nonprofit volunteers, especially founders and board members, to build their understanding of and ability to manage the complex environment in which nonprofits exist, and (2) Legal services, educationally grounded, to give new nonprofits a foundation of strength based in a solid understanding of nonprofits’ legal environment.

LCN’s programs are aimed at developing nonprofit capacity.
Presented September to June, LCN teaches nonprofit volunteers and staff about legal aspects of nonprofit management, and other topics to help nonprofits survive and thrive.
LCN’s programs explain the roles and responsibilities of boards of directors, the law of fundraising, and legally-required annual filings; overviews of nonprofit risk management, unrelated business income, lobbying and political activity, and employee handbooks.
