Ans: Leah was born in Brooklyn, New York, and moved to Los Angeles with her mother and sisters at the age of 13. At the beginning of her working life, while pursuing her acting career, Leah had a variety of jobs, such as waitressing, selling car insurance, and as a telemarketer for a solar heating company. Leah got her start as an actress on HBO’s “Vietnam War Stories”. Her first television appearance was in an episode of “Head of the Class”, and she landed her first starring role shortly thereafter on a spin-off of “Who’s the Boss” in the TV series “Living Dolls”. From there she went on to guest star on shows such as “Friends”, “Cheers”, and “NYPD Blue”. Leah has continued to enjoy success ever since.
After two seasons as a Co-Star in the prime time NBC comedy, “Fired Up”, Leah landed a starring role in the hit CBS comedy series, “The King of Queens”. While enjoying the success of “The King Of Queens”, Leah also landed a role in the highly successful movie, “Old School”. “The King Of Queens” had a very successful nine year run, completing its final season in 2007. The show continues to enjoy huge success through daily syndication, it is now airing in over 33 countries, and continues to grow.
One of Leah’s greatest joys in life is the philanthropic work she does with diverse charities, from the Children’s Hospital and the Zoo in her home city of Los Angeles, not to mention several after-school programs, just to name a few. Leah continues to support those charities that are getting real help to those that need it.
Leah’s first segue into production was co-producing the “Inside Out: Wedding and Baby Specials” for VH1, one of the single most successful specials the Network had seen to date, Early in 2007 Leah co-produced a series of webisodes for the Suave/Sprint brands under the “In The Motherhood” banner. The series was highly successful, with over 5 million viewers visiting the site.
Leah lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Angelo Pagán and daughter, and has three stepsons.
