Il peperoncino viene usato sia in salumi come la salciccia o la soppressata, sia in primi piatti come solo le nostre cuoche sanno preparare! Nel 1994 acquistai un piccolo terreno con 180 alberi di ulivo e una parte di un bosco nella mia patria, la Calabria.
Il mio primo pensiero fu di produrre il mio proprio olio di olive e di aprire un agriturismo.
Ammirando la vista meravigliosa sul bellissimo paesaggio e sul Mare Ionio a 15 km di distanza, si risvegliò in me un sogno: ritornare a “casa”, in Italia, visto che avevo passato tantissimi anni in Germania.
E così fu! Lì dove il mio predecessore aveva costruito una casa con aiuti finanziari dello Stato negli anni 50, andata in rovina durante gli anni 80, aveva lasciato uno spazio meraviglioso con alberi su cui costruii successivamente la mia casa.
Ci furono varie cose che mi spinsero a produrre il mio olio di olive: il colesterolo alto e il consiglio del mio medico.
Ma la decisione finale fu presa nel 1999 quando mio padre mi lasciò in eredità un terreno con 120 alberi di ulivo.
Negli anni successivi aumentai la quantità di alberi e iniziai a pensare seriamente alla costruzione di un agriturismo.
