He and his wife Bertha built a small greenhouse behind the house on Pomeroy Terrance in Northampton.
He soon out grew this half-acre and five years later, 1934, purchased 16-acres of land in Whately, built a large greenhouse and opened the design room in which we work today.

James LaSalle Jr.(Jim) joined his father in 1949 at the age of 21 and 63 years later he is still working a full week and loving it.
His wife Ann worked along side of him while they raised 3 children.
They added greenhouses in '50, '52, and '55.
Jim and Ann took over the business in 1957 and incorporated in 1971.
Bill LaSalle served in the army before returning to help his father for six years.
