Rob quit school at the age of 15 to enter into an apprenticeship under his father, the home builder, Ronnie LaPrairie.
Ronnie told Rob that if he was going to quit school to go to work, that he was going to work hard, and that he did.
Rob may have been "the boss's son," but that in no way entitled him to a free pass.
Rob, under the watchful eye of Ronnie, was trained with the correct, proper, and most importantly, safe techniques oh home-building.
At their peak, Ronnie and his crew were building four homes per year all across Mississippi, Louisiana, and also Destin, Florida.
Tragically, Ronnie was killed in 2003 and Rob went to work for various local construction companies, all the while fine-tuning his carpentry skills.
In, 2011, with the birth of another daughter, he decided to put the LaPrairie name back into the construction business by starting LaPrairie Construction.
Since then he has done new construction and also repair work mostly in Monterey, La but has also traveled to South Louisiana for carpentry jobs.
