Parent Involvement & Resource Center offers support, resources & volunteer opportunities for the families of our K-12 students.
The Lander County School District Parent Involvement & Resource Center (the "PIRC") is the hub of family engagement in our school district.
Located on the NE side of the new school district office (formerly Mary S.
Black Elementary School), the P.I.R.C.
offers many resources & volunteer opportunities for parents, grandparents & other family/community members interested in supporting education in our area.
At the P.I.R.C., we understand that while we all want to support our children's education, not everybody is comfortable in a traditional school setting.
We know that while education today can be wonderful & exciting it can also be confusing & intimidating for parents at times.
The P.I.R.C.
offers many resources for parents including, but not limited to, parent computers w/ internet access, helpful links for homework help, many resources that can be borrowed to use at home, Love & Logic materials and more.
However, the best resource of all is other parents & family members! The P.I.R.C.
truly is a family center in our school district comprised of parent volunteers interested in partnering with our school district to support children, teachers and each other.
At the end of the day we all have a child we love & that is a common bond we share right from the start.
We may not always have the information you seek but we will always do our best to help you find the answers you need.

Several family engagement programs are run through the P.I.R.C.
including our Wise Women School Quilt Project, WATCH D.O.G.S (Dads Of Great Students), Donuts w/ Dads, Muffins w/ Moms, BooHoo/WooHoo Back to School breakfast for parents, various PTA meetings & events, etc.
To make life a little easier, we offer free childcare during BMES parent teacher conferences & a place to hang out while waiting for kids to be dismissed.
We have a Kid's Corner full of toys to entertain little ones & coffee, water & snacks are always available while you visit..
If you'd like to volunteer but don't have a ton of time or would like to help teachers but don't want to volunteer in the classroom, the P.I.R.C.
is the place for you! During the 2015-2016 school year, P.I.R.C volunteers completed nearly 1,700 requests from K-12 teachers.
Requests include things like bulletin boards, copies, posters, decorations, games, sorting, stapling, laminating, cutting, inputting - you name it, we do it here! By completing these requests, volunteers give teachers the gift of more time for lesson planning, collaborations & even more time with their families.
Our teachers are incredibly grateful to our parent volunteers & join us on the last Thursday of every month to visit & thank them over lunch during our Monthly Mingles.
So much good can be done when we work together & we have a lot of fun while we're at it.
