Le Laboratoire Folklore est un projet de résidence et de diffusion publique autour de la thématique du folklore qui se déroule en trois volets de 2014 à 2017.
Pour sa 3e édition, le Centre d’artistes Caravansérail réunit quatre artistes de Rimouski, de Petite-Vallée et de la Ville de Québec issus des métiers d’art et des arts numériques, dans une démarche de création expérimentale.
Compte tenu du contexte spécifique de création qui leur est propre, comment perçoivent-il leur folklore dans la postmodernité? Comment ces artistes, qui revendiquent une pratique en art visuel contemporain et en métiers d’arts peuvent-ils éviter de porter un regard péjoratif sur la thématique abordée? Le Laboratoire Folklore servira de contexte dans lequel l’origine de la démarche des artistes sera au centre de leur création.
