Un día cualquiera del otoño de 1986, San Roque en persona, perpetuo vagabundo amistado con un perrillo rabón, llegó a la franquicia del viejo burgo de Compostela.
Venía el santo fatigado de la vagancia por geografías exóticas y de la inclemencia terca de los caminos.
Encontró acogida, mantel y reposo en la taberna que dicen La Bodeguilla, que en aquel momento era todavía tasca recién abierta en la vecindad del barrio santiagués que tiene por nombre el del santo peregrino.
