Ans: Küçük İskender mahlasıyla tanınan Derman İskender Över, 28 Mayıs 1964 yılında İstanbul'da dünyaya geldi. Kabataş Erkek Lisesi'ni bitirdikten sonra İ.Ü. Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fakültesi'ne girdi ve beş yıl eğitim gördü. Kendi arzusuyla bıraktığı tıp eğitimini takiben İ.Ü. Edebiyat Fakültesi Sosyoloji Bölümü'ne de üç yıl kadar devam etti. Ağır basan sanat hayatı onu akademik ortamdan kopartarak edebiyat ve sinemaya sürükledi. 'Marjinal şair' olarak tanınmaya başlaması 1985 yılıdır. Günümüze değin bunca yıllık süreye onlarca şiir ve özgür metin, bir günlük, üç roman, iki özel derleme, bir inceleme, bir antoloji olmak üzere birçok kitap sığdırdı. Kimi Avrupa ülkelerinde çıkan antolojilerde şiirleri basıldı. Kanada'da yayımlanan Descant adlı edebiyat dergisinin Türkiye özel sayısında, ABD'de ise Murat Nemet Nejat'ın 'eda' kavramında yoğunlaştığı Türk şairlerinden çeviri antolojisinde kendine yer buldu. 2000 yılında İtalya'da düzenlenen Avrupalı Genç Şairler Yarışması'nda ( La Giovane Poesia D'europa Nel 1999 ) ilk ona girdi ve bu şairlerle birlikte kitaplaştırıldı. Yine aynı yıl içersinde uzun zamandır sinema dalındaki jürisinde de yer aldığı Orhon Murat Arıburnu Ödülleri'nde 'Bir Çift Siyah Deri Eldiven' adlı şiir kitabıyla birincilik alarak ödüllendirildi. İzmir Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Fotoğraf Bölümü master öğrencilerine 'Postmodernizmin Görsel Malzemeye Etkisi' üzerine bir seminer verdi. 2001 yılında Almanya'da, 2002'de de Hollanda'nın çeşitli şehirlerindeki etkinliklerde konuşmacı olarak ve şiir performanslarıyla yeraldı. 2003 yılında Berlin'de düzenlenen İlk Türkiyeli Eşcinseller Kongresi'nde bu konudaki dekleresini okudu. 2004'te Newyork'ta ve Kuzey Carolania'da üniversitelerde konuşma yaptı ve tek kişilik okuma gecelerine konuk oldu. Ayrıca Türkiye'de farklı üniversitelerde ve liselerde panellere, workshop'lara katıldı. Bir dönem seslendirme, senaristlik, radyo programcılığı, şiir matineleri de yapan küçük İskender, içlerinde 'Ağır Roman' ve 'O Şimdi Asker'in de bulunduğu beş filmde de oyuncu olarak rol aldı. Halen Varık, Adam Sanat, Yasak Meyve, Kaçak Yayın adlı dergiler ağırlıklı olmak üzere yazmaya ve kitaplaşmış eserlerini yayımlamaya devam etmektedir.
