Detailed description is Das Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Luzern wurde 1998 mit der Einweihung des Konzertsaals eröffnet.
Das KKL Luzern ist ein multifunktionaler Bau in Luzern mit einem Konzertsaal, der für seine hochkarätige Akustik geschätzt wird, gebaut nach den Plänen des Architekten Jean Nouvel.
Das KKL wurde 1998 mit einem Konzert der Berliner Philharmoniker unter der Leitung von Claudio Abbado eröffnet.ArchitekturUrsprünglich plante Jean Nouvel, den neuen Konzertsaal in Schiffsform direkt in den Vierwaldstättersee zu bauen.
Aus städtebaulichen und ökologischen Gründen konnte diese Idee nicht realisiert werden.
Nouvel überarbeitete das Projekt und kam zu folgender Lösung: Wenn ich nicht zum Wasser gehen kann, soll das Wasser zu mir kommen.
Mit dem Begriff Inclusion beschreibt Nouvel seine Idee, das Äussere nach innen und das Innere nach aussen zu tragen.
Mit Wasserkanälen, die direkt ins Gebäude hinein führen, und einem Dach, das bis über den See hinaus reicht, gibt Nouvel seiner Idee der Inclusion eine konkrete Form.Die Frontsicht besteht aus drei Gebäudeteilen, die die Funktion visuell nach Aussen tragen; dazwischen befindet sich sowohl im Innern wie auch auf dem Vorplatz Wasser.
Die drei Gebäudeteile beherbergen den Konzertsaal, den multifunktionalen Luzerner Saal, das Kunstmuseum Luzern und weitere Konferenz- und Tagungsräumlichkeiten.
Hinzu kommen diverse gastronomische Einrichtungen (Restaurant RED, World Café, Seebar, die Sommerbar Dock 14, die Winterbar Pirouette und das Café im Kunstmuseum Luzern).
