In 2016 the pair started discussing the recording of an album of Thomas’ original tunes (see KJ Thomas - Take The Detour).
Inspired by female performers such as Kim Lenz and Kay Marie at the 2015 New England Shake-up festival, Donnelly had also started penning tunes with female vocals in mind, and had some already written.
The concept was born: finish writing, then arrange and record, two albums simultaneously..

With Krystal Jyl on lead vocals and the help of locals Rob Lethbridge (Hillbilly Hepcats) on upright bass, Andy Clapson (Dang Guilty) on drums and Donnelly on guitar for a change, the album started to take shape.
