KREMC was founded in 1938 and energized the home of its first customer on February 22, 1939.
In 1998, KREMC formed a partnership with Touchstone Energy -- a nationwide alliance of over 600 electric cooperatives.
The Touchstone Energy partnership is a way for us to expand our service by sharing ideas and advanced technologies with other cooperatives around the country.
A nine-member board of directors, all of whom receive service from KREMC and are elected by the member-owners, governs our cooperative..
