The building of Kootingal War Memorial Hall was initiated on 3 September 1939, and completed on 15 August 1945..

On 17 December 1954, the Hall was dedicated as a "Monument" Memorial* to our fallen heroes who gave their lives in the service of the Commonwealth in World War II, and whose ultimate sacrifice enables us to live in the freedom we enjoy today..
