Beginning with Disaster Preparedness and formation of Bal Panchayat in the initial stage.
Then KVT gradually moved towards Child Rights and Protection, Health and Education issues etc.
then formation of SHG for economic empowerment of women, formation of Kissan Club, Child Protection Committee etc..
KVT’s journey is 15 years long and during this time frame it has faced lots of barriers and challenges.

Kissan Vikas Trust herein after referred in short as “KVT” is a non political, nonprofit making, social organization has been working for various social causes to uplift the status of all classes in respect of to provide better health, education, social status, shelter to homeless, to care the various other schemes and program since the date of in inception without any discrimination of caste, creed, gender, sex, and language.

• The organization has conducted different training programs for teachers and student on issues like Corporal Punishment and joyful learning.
The accomplishment so far on child protection issues are the formation Children Group (Bal Panchyat), formation of Astitav Centre (girls to girl’s education) and formation of Child Protection Committee..
• Women empowerment is one of the core areas of our organization.
We are working on this issue since the beginning of our organization.
The organization has formed and developed around 40 Mahila Shakti Sangathan in different villages of Khagaria district of Bihar..
Moreover, Mahila Sangathan plays an active role in protecting women from Domestic Violence and several other familiar problems..
• KVT created Farmers Club in each selected villages.
The main function of farmers club is to provide scientific and systematic knowledge to the village farmers on proper cropping method before and after flood..
• By the end of 2013, the health project implemented by KVT expects at least 20 % increase in the utilization of all basic maternal, newborn child, child health and nutrition services.

Our Project.

Project name: Child participation ( Children Alliance for Realization of Child Rights).

Brief description of the Project: To improve Children access to their basic rights in quality education, Protection and survival by facilitating child inclusive governance through child participation in khagaria, one of the disaster Zone areas in Bihar.
And To ensure full and meaning fully participation of children in khagaria district of Bihar to effectively engage in planning implementation and monitoring of child development programmes and be directly represented in local and state level decision and follow up process .
The basic purpose of the children group is to organized children in to child protection and child participation activities.
Every children groups 15 member are selected by the community children.
In each of the project village an inclusive at least 15-member Children’s Group formed, which composed of girls, boys, children from scheduled castes and tribes, disabled children and children from other marginalized..

Project Achievements: .

1.30 village level protection committees (Child Protection Committee - CPC) has brought the children rights, their vulnerability and concern at one platform to think and take action to protect children in their village and vicinity.
The interaction of children group with the CPC raised many issues of children concern and the CPC has started recognizing the issues of child protection.

30 volunteers have been trained twice on child protection issues and child protection policy.

CPC organized village level meetings with school teachers and school education committees and shared the list of children to be enrolled in the new school session.
Later volunteer informed about the process to parents and took lead to monitor and support enrollment process in schools.

Brief description of the IPAP Project:.

Khagaria is one of backward districts of Bihar and has poor literact and socio economic indicators.
Regular floods, inadequate health and education facility are key factors responsible for exclusion and indirectly contribute for migration, child labour, trafficking and exploitations from the early childhood.
The children are affected by frequent regular annual floods and are also excluded from different schemes and provisions of government.
Save the Children is working in Khagaria with focus on mushar community for past two years.
The children from mushar communities have less access to education and particularly the girl children don’t access their educational rights due to various factors.
Khagaria District has ranked very low on the female literacy, as per the 2001 census it is 24th out of 38 districts in Bihar.
Bihar literacy rate is 47% and the literacy rate of Khagaria is 41.5% and among mushars it is as low as 15-20% only.
The low literacy rate and the sluggish developmental growth owes to factors like the remoteness, regular floods, and the level of awareness of the mushars..

4. The back to school campaign started with identifying a list of children from village and school.
Those children who were irregular were listed and parents were counseled by the CPC and village level volunteers to send them in schools..
Then the list of children who were never been in school was prepared and village level meeting was organized to discuss about the reason and solution of it.
In the end parents took oath that they will send their children in schools.

The village level rallies block level rallies and district level rallies were organized to sensitized child labor and their employee.
Many children who were labor in past and later were mainstreamed also presented their views among a large audience to send their children in school and not on work.

Brief Description of the Parivartan Project.

Parivartan is a 60-month project which is implementing since May-2012 funded by PCI – India and its consortium partner.
PARIVARTAN is for “Empowering and Mobilizing Communities for Sustainable Improvement in Health Outcome in Bihar”.
It is designed to improve key family health behaviors, equity and accountability for health services and to sustain critical family health and behavior sanitation outcomes among women and children initially in eight innovation districts and ultimately across the state of Bihar.
This project is being implemented at Khagaria & Begusarai district of Bihar, with the guidance of eminent social thinker Mr.

Brief description of the Social Exclusion in the Khagaria District and the role of KVT.
