Detailed description is My vision is to capture the beauty in women, and families, in a way that surprises them, empowers them, and allows them to see themselves the way I do.
I was raised surrounded by photography.
My father was lucky enough to work in a gallery in Albany, alongside many wonderful local talents, my mother was an art teacher in a high school, and one of my favorite uncles worked as the photographer for first the Az Republic, and later the Detroit Free Press.

While my friends' parents hung modest family photos and copies of generic landscape paintings, the walls of my house held black and whites of belly buttons, paintings of nudes, and a lot of my parents' personall works.
At one point, my mother transformed our laundry room into a black room, where she taught me and my sister about the beauty I'm watching an image develop from nothing..
In high school, I was one of our yearbook photographers.
I lugged my dad's big 35 mm to events, until he finally bought me one to bring to college with me.
In 2002, I bought an Olympus digital, which held 32 whole photos on one card, and I marveled at the fact that it could hold not only 8 exposures more than film, but that I has the ability to erase those pictures that came out a bit too blurry, or a bit too mundane.
