Detailed description is Singer/keyboardist - 25 year veteran live music performer within Canada and occasionally international.
Just recorded first true CD and promoting it now.
One man band that plays a wide variety of music with a fully backed music workstation keyboard.
Well over 1000 songs and growing that range from Pop and Country, to Reggae, Blues, Easy Listening, Folk, Classic Rock, Celtic, novelty and a smattering of Broadway.
A little bit of everything for people ages 8 to 80!.

Just finished recording an album for Stonecairn Productions called MILESTONES - ( ...Mothers...
Mystery...
) .
After 25 years of being a working musician 2 to even 7 nights a week almost non-stop I finally took a step back to temporarily rest on my laurels and I was talked into finally doing an album.
I had lukewarm and almost shall we say...humbling reactions that dashed the optimism of the idea of recording.
For whatever reason I had a certain type of voice that most engineers tended to do exactly the OPPOSITE of how I wanted to sound to the output.
I wanted to sound rich and belting on high power notes...they always compressed me so that I sounded like I was barely raising my voice.
I liked a nice healthy reverb that gave a little true echo ambience.
They always stripped my reverb and made me sound dry and flat with no overtones.
I liked to boost the high in my voice and strip the lows..they...you get the picture..

Alex Meade at Moustache Music Studios was the exact opposite of all of these past experiences! He has a golden ear, a very easy going personality, loads of patience and was a total joy to work with.
What started as treidation and antipathy calmed to geniality.
After a couple days it warmed to optimism and innovation and by the end of the week I was on fire! I had no clue what I was going to pick out of the extensive repertoire or how to justify my choices, I had so many worries and fears and doubts but he made them all just easily pop like soap bubbles one by one.
HIGHLY recommend him to anyone wanting to do recording.
A week in the studio in Halifax during a very cold and wet pre-spring was a delightful when I walked into the studio.
Thank you Alex for making my experience so much fun and bringing out the creative spark in me.

I also have to give a massive amount of respect and credit to someone who is essentially an Icon in the East Coast music scene and holds a world record regarding a very impressive Beatles repertoire feat.
I will leave you with that hint of a tidbit to google.

Hal Bruce came in subtly and let me get my sea legs but by the time I was riding the waves he was subtly guiding the ship towards Neverland as in "I never dreamed it would turn out to be this good!" Tirelessly toiling away at home he spent his own personal free time without charge to learn every single one of the 17 tracks and add a little something or even a fair bit of something....whatever was needed and it was like detergent to a washing machine.
It all came out shiny, sparkling and new and much fresher in sound and quality.
MILESTONES may be my album but it's Hal's achievement.
He truly produced it and seamlessly blended all the tracks and their sound quality into matching and harmonious contingent pieces of a whole dimension.
He'd an incredibly gifted musician and is similarly blessed with a golden ear and impeccable sense of musicality.
With this dynamic duo I simply couldn't lose.
So my mother guided me through all of the early days of my career leading by example.
I sing a song in tribute to her called My star that I wrote in dedication and back to back on this album sing a duet with her that sums up how we really feel.
We need each other by our side whether near or far, afraid, or alone..my father I tip my hat to by rerecording the one special never truly brought to life sleeping giant of a song about the mystery of Oak Island, and I end up mysteriously coinciding with the two perfect people with their individual talents and inspiration to complete the Triumvirate Trio that culminates my milestone of 25 years of performing by creating this completely rudderless project that mysteriously but magically was born and is now not only a milestone, but a watermark.
