Bearkats is an interactive program for children 1-13 years old designed to breed the next generation of Bearkats! Junior Bearkats is a program created especially for youth ages 1 to 13 to interact with Sam Houston State University (SHSU), involving the youth in a number of activities online and on the SHSU campus.
Our unique program offers activities that includes but is not limited to; attending parades, riding on floats, tailgating with our Southland Conference Champion Bearkat Football Team, running bases with our Lady Kats Softball Team, acting as the official Bat Boy for our Men’s Baseball Team, a towel program that allows our younger members to feel involved with the SHSU Basketball Teams, coloring contest, and writing contests.
Junior Bearkats receive an official, personalized Junior Bearkats membership card, as well as a quarterly newsletter to keep them involved in activities and informed about SHSU.
