JP started playing violin from an early age, but after 6 years, the lack of flexibility and original composition led him away from the classical realm.
Taking up bass and guitar allowed him to find his musical feet.
The original projects he worked in saw his bands working with The Falling Joys, Urge Overkill and other indie bands.

He later moved to playing funk, rock, blues and reggae in different line-ups such as Matangali Music (reggae).
His travels overseas led him to Japan and Canada where he worked as the bass player in the house band at The Pink Cow (Tokyo, Japan), various Japanese indie/punk rock bands and with blues artist J.J.
Vicars (Japan, USA).

After returning to Australia, JP began working with Bruce Braybrooke (ex Frenzal Rhomb and Beautiful Girls) and a number of writing projects, including tracks for Celestial Underground (Paul Verma & Rasti Jovasevic), The Mighty Resonators (blues) and Crash and the Crapenters (punk/ska).
