Terry Hathaway started on his “tea voyage” in 1980 while living aboard a 46’ Chris Craft called Auf Wiedersehen on Lake Union in the Seattle, Washington area.
As is true for many people his first exposure to tea was a tea bag of “Earl Grey,” and he has been widening his tea horizons ever since.
For the past 31 years Terry has been collecting tea, tea china, tea cookbooks, and books about tea and, in the process, developed a broad knowledge of tea – from its history to brewing techniques and how to select teas for various occasions.
This knowledge fostered a desire to share what he has learned.
He decided to take his passion for tea “public” by starting a tea business focused on selling a variety of great loose-leaf teas as well as giving talks and tastings or cuppings.
He's often willing to create a delectable dessert to accompany the tasting – don't hesitate to ask! His favorite teas are China and Indian blacks..
