In memory of her, we have been giving students who have had organ transplants $2,500.00 scholarships to attend college.

I’m the co – founder of a scholarship program called “Jessie’s Day - Give the Gift of Scholarship” named after my sister, Jessica, herself the recipient of a heart transplant when she was 14 years old.

In the past 11 years, the Jessica Beth Schwartz Scholarship Fund has raised more than $100,000 and has helped 40 college-bound transplant recipients.

Jessica Beth Schwartz was a heart transplant recipient and Temple University journalism student.
Her dedication to her education was cut short when she passed away at the age of 23.
In her memory, her mother started the Jessica Beth Schwartz Memorial Scholarship Fund to award young transplant recipients the opportunity to pursue their dreams of a higher education.
