The Western Wooded Parcel is a 400-acre flat wood forest located in the southwest corner of the former Jefferson Proving Ground (JPG), an Army facility that was closed on 1995.
The Quitclaim Deed of Conveyance accepted by the Jefferson County Commissioners on December 30, 2004, states that “The property shall be used and maintained exclusively for public park and recreation purposes in perpetuity as set forth in the program of utilization.”.
