Detailed description is Established in 2014, The Jeff Cohen Charitable Foundation is devoted to making a positive difference in Plymouth and the surrounding South Shore communities.
Our primary focus is raising funds for the people in our community who need it most.
Whether it be that they’ve suffered a great loss and are in need of financial support, or they are someone who would really benefit from furthering their education but do not have the means to do so..

Everyone would like to help, but are not sure how.
We try to make it simple for everybody to help.
Typically, we set up an event in the lower committee to come and have a great time and raise money all the same time.
This began many years ago with my Halloween parties.
When disaster struck New York for 9/11 my Halloween party turned into a benefit to raise money for the families of fallen firefighters.
We raised a bit under $1,000 that year.
At the same time, it showed me the power of what could be done.
From that point forward I became greatly involved with the Boys and Girls Club of Plymouth and developed a “Valentine's Ball” benefit for them.
The first year we raised $12,000 and it was a huge success thanks to my committee of volunteers.
By the time of our seventh Valentine's Ball we raised over $75,000, for a combined total of $250,000 within a seven-year period.
Even the Halloween benefits have become much more focused.
We will raise and donate anywhere from $11,000-$15,000 each year from Halloween benefits.
Attendance ranges from 500 to 700 people, who all get together for an incredible night of fun and community..

Over the years we started to gain recognition.
Around 2005 I was awarded a Senate citation for all the work I had been doing with the Special Olympics.
The year prior I was entering the Special Olympics Hall of Fame for the money and awareness we raised over the years.
I thought that was pretty good up until 2014.
I had assembled an incredible volunteer committee that worked tirelessly for two years planning Plymouth's first New Year's Eve Masquerade Ball.
The talent and drive of this committee earned us great recognition.
The result was further awards.
The South Shore Community Action Council recognized us as a local hero.
In doing so, we were invited to attend an award ceremony with several other organizations also being recognized.
Coralee Burke of "To The Max Events" , who is also the co-chair for many of the Jeff Cohen Charitable events, was there to represent the foundation and accept our commendations.
We were selected to receive a citation from the Mass Senate, Congress, and the House of Representatives for our charitable endeavors.
These awards would not be possible without Coralee and the committees who were also crucial in the formation of the Jeff Cohen Charitable Foundation!.

Each year we hope to improve, and encourage others to help as well.
Working together as a team, we plan on becoming a force in our community for years to come.
