It is an independent organization of youth.
Also known as the Jamiat ("jam-ee-at"), it is one of the oldest student organizations in Pakistan, founded on 23 December 1947 in Lahore, Pakistan.
The organization has attempted to increase the decency among the public and glorify the image of Islam specially in colleges and university campuses across Pakistan.
Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba is one of the very few organization in Pakistan that doesn't base itself on Cast or Race.
Islami Jamiat Talaba has made many sacrifices for Islam and Pakistan.
Islami Jamiat Talba Believes in the Oneness of God (Allah) and that Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) was the last prophet of Allah.
Islami Jamiat Talba through his movement, succeeded to declare the Ahmadis (Qadianis) the non-Believers in the national law of Pakistan.
Islami Jamiat Talaba Pakistan is working in Pakistan to eliminate the non-Islamic factors and the secularism from the curriculam and techings of the educational institutions of Pakistan.

Islami Jamiat Talaba Pakistan, A students' organization, founded on 23rd December 1947 in Lahore and after a tireless struggle of last 56 years has become the largest and the most organized students' organization in Pakistan.
Jamiat has been striving for upholding the banner of Allah since its inception and its main emphasis has been at conversion of the society by preparing Islamic mindset among the nation, particularly in students.
Jamiat has a conviction that without the implementation of Islamic laws, the society can never be converted into Islamic culture and cannot be able to reflect the directions of Islamic teachings onto the world.
Jamiat has always tried for the betterment of Pakistan regardless, whose ever is the ruler of Pakistan.
Students are those who have been affected more by the infraction of rulers in many ways in Pakistan.
Therefore, many impediments and constraints came into various shapes in the way of Jamiat to avert it to move further from its aristocratic mission of Islamization like the ban on students' union in academic institutions which was a main source to develop influence of students.
But, fortunately, Jamiat has succeeded to move forward with its global mission of Islamization.
The students have abominated the bars produced by the rulers because it was due to the thought that students be avoided to involve in issues relating political concerns and national interests of the country.
Hence, yet, our universities are unable to restore ban on students' union despite the honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan has adjourned through its landmark decision to make necessary arrangements for students' elections in the universities and colleges of Pakistan.
Now, Islami Jamiat Talaba is the biggest organization amongst students in Pakistan.
It has never deviated from its basic mission and goal of establishment of an Islamic Society, which guarantees peace, justice, employment, prosperity, education, health and social security for its inhabitants.
This is a consequence of Jamiat's endeavor that many of its accomplices have presented their immolation in Kashmir, Afghanistan and in Pakistan against the rival forces.
Islami Jamiat Talaba has been trying to save the youths from astray, delinquency, obscenity by showing them a path of righteousness and good deeds for the sake of infinite hereafter and the success in this worldly life.
This is because of view that only youths could play decisive role in any revolution because of the historical fact that revolutions come with the help of young and dynamic factor and this is an obligation for revolution that a big part of its followers and associates shall follow ethics and morals.
No doubt Jamiat is a trend settler in regard to that it fractionated the effects of left and secular lobbies in educational institutions of Pakistan since the decade of 80's, subsequently these lobbies are in a desperate plight to defend itself in the academic institutions within the entity of Pakistan.
Therefore, Jamiat's endeavor is widely acclaimed in every element of life including ulemas, teachers, students, intellectuals, politicians and those who belong to Pakistan's defense.
Mission Statement “To seek the pleasure of Allah (SWT) by ordering human life in accordance with the teachings laid down by Allah and his Messenger Muhammad (May peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
Our Program •To convey the message of Islam to the students, to encourage them to acquire its knowledge, and to awaken them to the task of fulfilling its requirements in the practical life.
•To organize those students under the Jamiat, who are prepared to strive for the establishment of Islamic way of life.
•To make effective arrangements for the study of Islam and modern sciences, the building of Islamic Character and the development of mental and physical qualities for those students who join the Jamiat.
•To strive for implementation of Islamic Educational system in Pakistan this is the most scientific, comprehensive and easy to establish.
•To make efforts to solve the problems faced by the student community to get their genuine demands Fulfilled and to lead them in their collective problems •To struggle for the establishment of an Islamic society in Pakistan this ensures human welfare and is free from economic, social and political exploitation.
History 1947: On 23 rd December, 1947 ( 9 th of Safar, 1367 Hijri) , 25 students from different locations of the country gathered at Lahore and announced the formation of Islami Jamiat Talaba.The initial objectives decided were defined in three points: •To organize Students in order to serve Islam.
•To produce the fondness of studying Islamic Literature in students.
•To prepare students for certain field for future Islamic Society.
1948: Founding members initiated work at their hometown.
Nazim-e-Ala Zafarullah Khan visited various colleges of Punjab.
Introductory pamphlets and initial constitution (rules and regulations) was published.
New units were formed in almost all regions of Punjab , more over Units started working at Karachi and Peshawar.
1949: Five Departments were formed under Secreteriat (Markaz) namely: •Department of Information and Publication •Department of Public Aid •Department of Finance •Department of Arabic Teaching •Department of Research Seerat Day and Mushaira was organized by Pakistan Markaz under the president ship of Maulana Zafarullah Khan.
Work was established in Lahore, Faisal abad, Peshawar, Bhawalpur and Karachi.
1950: The work of Jamiat started in East Pakistan.
Jamiat try to stop first air fooling.
Publication of the weekly Azzam from Lahore.
The work of Jamiat started in High Schools.
In order to resolve the problems of students of Medical College Lahore, 26 days strike was observed.

1951: Central Secretariat of Islami Jamiat Talaba Pakistan was shifted in Karachi.

1971: Annual Convention for members was held at Eden Hotel, Decca, East Pakistan from 29 th January to 31 st January.

“Mutee-ur-Rehman Nizami” was reelected as Nazim-e-Ala(President).
20 th General Convention was held at Multan from 1 st October to 3 rd October .The number of participants were 251.
New Nazim-e-Ala (President “Tasneem Alam Manzar” was elected.
According to reports presented at 20 th general Convention, Number of members in east Pakistan was 134.
Eleven branches and 671 units were operating.
Pakistan was divided .
A new country “Bengladesh” was found by east Pakistan nationalist with the help of Indian attacking forces.
Pakistan army surrendered on 16 th December, 1971.
Jamiat workers in east Pakistan in severe conditions .
Nationalist burnt their houses, killed their families as well as theirselves.

1972: On 22 nd May, 1972 , Jamiat started her work in “Jummu” and “Kashmir”.

On 8 th June, 1972 one of the lover of jamiat “Dr Nazeer” was killed at clinic .He was member of National assembly of Pakistan.
Jamiat presented his opinion to “Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto” before his departure to Shimla where he had to met with “Indra Gandhi”, Primeminister of India.
“Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto” was at that time President and Martial Law administrator of the country.Delegate met Bhutto under the leadership of Nazim-e-ala , Tasneem Alam Manzar.
21 st Annual Convention for workers was held at EidGah Maydan, Nazimabad.

To control this situation, Jamiat started Books Week (Hafta-e-Kutub) in 1952 to help the needy students by providing them books and paying their fees.
This tradition has been carried out since then and every year a week is dedicated for these efforts.
Old books and funds are collected by door to door visits, at big markets, populated locations in the city and at educational institutes.
These material and funds are then passed onto to needy students in different institutes by Student Welfare Department.
