Detailed description is The Department of Biology at Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne Facebook Page was created to keep current, past, and future students and their The Department of Biology is located in the Science Building of the IPFW campus.
We provide not only a broad range of undergraduate courses, but also have an excellent MS graduate program with both thesis and nonthesis options.
Interested undergraduate and graduate students can participate in research projects or in other forms of scholarly activity with individual faculty members.
Our faculty research programs extend into many different fields within biology, including aquatic ecology, behavior, botany, conservation, ecotoxicology, evolutionary biology, genetics, herpetology, immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, physiological ecology, and stress physiology.
The faculty and students are supported by a wonderful staff (Science Building 330; 260-481-6305) who assist in everything from class registration to advising to laboratory operations..

In terms of majors, Biology is the largest department in the College of Arts and Sciences at IPFW.
There are currently over 400 undergraduate majors and almost 40 MS graduate students.
We also serve about 70 students intending to transfer to Purdue University programs after completing preliminary coursework at IPFW.
More than half of our undergraduates are pre-professional, intending to enter medical, dental, or similar programs.
