Detailed description is Combining psychology & yoga to help children manage any depression, anxiety and stress! My practices involve a combination of physical, mental and practical strategies aimed at actively engaging children and getting .
great results! My name is Amy Seear and i have been working as a psychologist in Geraldton since 2005.
I first commenced working with adults however as i gained experience and learnt more about the needs in Geraldton i noticed that there was a significant need for psychological services for young children.
My current client base is approximately 50% adults and 50% children....this worried me as i was seeing many children with symptoms relating to stress and anxiety, poor sleep and at times suicidal thoughts :( The increase of the presence of these symptoms had me considering what i could offer to the local community by way of assisting in the prevention of many of these symptoms....this is what lead me to train as a children's yoga teacher.
I have practiced yoga intermittently throughout my life and have noticed the positive impact that it has had on both my physical and emotional well being.
I thought more about this and what a wonderful thing it would be to try and offer these skills to children.
This is how In3minds Children's Yoga classes was born!! I have completed three different training courses with Loraine Rushton (Founder of Zenergy Yoga for Kids) which has given me hundreds of tools to use with children.
My completion of the Yoga Therapy course has also given me the opportunity to merge my skills as a psychologist and children's yoga teacher to treat symptoms relating to anxiety and stress, depression, ADHD and menstruation issues...plus many more!!! My psychology practice is located at 5d Burges street Geraldton and i also offer individual or small group counselling/yoga sessions from my practice.
As i am registered with Medicare, these sessions also attract a rebate from Medicare for all clients with a GP referral.
