Why "Hopestill Antiques & Restoration"? Hopestill Corey was my 8th great grandmother on my father's side (c.
1692-1729).
She was the granddaughter of Chief Minnetinka Narragansett Sachem of the Narragansett Algonquian Tribe in Rhode Island.
In 1675, the Narragansett Tribe was massacred by a a military force of Puritans from Plymouth, Massachusetts Bay, and Connecticut.
Chief Minnetinka and his wife were both killed, but their daughter, Elizabeth, survived.
Elizabeth named her daughter Hopestill and I can only imagine why she would have chosen that name..
