Originalidad, crudeza y frescura son los tres factores que definen el estilo de Hop Frog, que vas desde la potencia y la rabia del punk rock más estilizado con pinceladas potentes y oscuras, destacando la voz femenina al frente.
Un estilo potente y oscuro mezclado con la originalidad y frescura de sus melodías, letras con mensaje, que hablan desde los malos tratos, pasando por el descontento de la sociedad actual y que terminan haciendo guiños a los relatos del gran genio que les da nombre, Edgar Allan Poe..

Después de que AliaZ dejara el grupo por distintos motivos en 2005, Tania C.
(voz y bajo), Tito (guitarra), Diego (guitarra) y Turok (batería) consiguen sacar el grupo hacia delante, manteniendo el estilo crudo y fresco que les caracteriza.

Desde su primera actuación en la sala “El Grito” en el 2004, Hop Frog no ha parado de ofrecer su espectáculo a lo largo y ancho de la Comunidad de Madrid, hasta que finalmente deciden probar suerte de mano de Los Sucios en Almería (2005).

Durante el 2005- 2006 la banda sigue subiéndose a los escenarios donde les dan la oportunidad de tocar como en la Sala Piratas, El Grito, Sala Montgó (antiguo Park Life), en la Casa de la Juventud de Fuenlabrada en un festival organizado por el ayuntamiento, en el Warrior´s Festival (en el C.S.A.
La Casika, Móstoles), Sala El Juglar y en La Cueva (Almería), Siroco, Gruta 77, Wurlitzer Ballroom, El Grito, Festikmaff (C.S.A.
La Casika, Móstoles, festival existente desde hace una década como alternativa al Festimad) , entre otras salas..

En el 2005 graban su primera maqueta, “Hop Frog”, en los estudios de Geek Records con Anne Paranoid al frente de la producción y costeada por ellos.
Este primer trabajo en estudio, del cual se han vendido alrededor de 700 copias, está compuesto por cuatro temas que muestran el estilo oscuro, potente y con melodías frescas que les caracterizan.
A partir de ese momento Hop Frog marca estilo.
Durante estos años comparten escenario con grupos como 59mm,Les Olé, Psicholoosers, Noways, Shoolins, Zero 5, Dose, etc..

Durante este tiempo Tania C.
colabora en la demo de Shoolins (Doctor Expectrum, 2005) en “La Chica más Popular”, vuelve a repetir con ellos en el 2007 con el primer largo de éstos (Shoolins), en “Rebeca “ y “En la tienda de discos”.
Colabora con Shoolins en varios directos, entre ellos en el Gruta 77.
Participa también en lo que será el primer l.p.
de Melibea, “Cuando todos duermen” y en “Rock and Roll tatuado” de Guitar Mafia..

Entrado el 2007 actúan en varios escenario de la Comunidad de Madrid, contando con la ayuda de Mario Shoo como guitarra, entre ellos en La Sala en el Femina Rock Fest.
Y después aterrizan en Donosti para compartir escenario con Nuevo Catecismo Católico.

Hop Frog Biography By Erik Rodríguez Campoy (12/10/2007) Hop Frog are born by mid 2004.
Three words to define their style could be the originality, crudity and freshness of their melodies.
This goes from the power and strength of punk rock with a sort of dark touch, featuring a female voice in front.
Hop Frog´s melodic dark mood is complemented by a strong load of message, which contains subjects such as bad treats, unhappiness in current society and so on, blinking an eye to the great genius Edgar Allan Poe.
Poe´s short story, `Hop Frog´ gave this `Madridian´ guys the name of their band.
Actually, Poe´s literary beauty can be perceived through Hop Frog´s lyrics, reflecting a universe of depth and darkness, being these mixed up with the crude uncertainty of our times.
Hop Frog are: Tania C.
(bass and vocals), Tito (rhythm guitar), Diego (lead guitar) and Poh (drums).
After a number of changes, the band carries on to developing their style.
But despite a certain transformation process, everyone who has played in this band has equally added something to the whole project, including former members Turok and AliaZ, whose work and influence have remained in the evolution of Hop Frog.
As in reference to live performances, Hop Frog base all of their concerts on a dynamic, melodic pattern combined with a hard and strong rock sound.
These fresh and solid live shows do certainly support their studio work, proving that the band can brilliantly play what was previously recorded indoors.
But musical quality is at all times backed by their young vitality and enthusiasm, which these guys irradiate from their first performance.
This first concert was in “Sala El Grito”,2004, and since then Hop Frog have never stopped playing live all throughout the County of Madrid and in other cities of Spain, like Salamanca, San Sebastián and Almeria, where Hop Frog were presented by friend Andalusian band Los Sucios (2005).
The group´s live performances carry on during 2005 and 2006, playing in a variety of places such as Sala Piratas, El Grito, Sala Montgó (former Park Life), Casa de la Juventud de Fuenlabrada, Warrior´s Festival (in La Casika, Móstoles), Sala El Juglar and La Cueva (Almería), Siroco, Gruta 77, Wurlitzer Ballroom, Festikmaff (an alternative to Festimad for more than ten years), and so on… Furthermore, Hop Frog´s Discography starts off in 2005, when their demo-EP “Hop Frog” is released.
Produced by Anne Paranoid for Geek Records, the total recording, producing, marketing and distributing costs were fully covered by Hop Frog´s band members.
This EP was their first studio experience, and about 700 copies were sold out.
“Hop Frog” EP is composed by 4 trucks that illustrate the band´s innovative and genuine punk-rock approach, creating a natural combination of talented, elegant style with a certain commercial touch.
Following the distribution of their first mini-record, Hop Frog will share stage and studio with Madridian groups such as Shoolins, 59 mm, Les Ole, Psicholoosers, Noways, Zero 5, Dose and so on.
From this point Hop Frog collaborated in several recordings, such as Shoolin´s “La Chica Más Popular”, featuring Taty Poe´s vocals.
This song would be included in Shoolins´ fantastic debut EP “Doctor Spectrum, 2005”.
Partnership with Shoolins would carry on with Shoolins´s first LP, on which Taty´s voice would appear again in several trucks, like “Rebeca” or “En la Tienda de Discos”.
Other collaborations also involve Taty adding vocals to Melibea´s “Cuando Todos Duermen”.
Afterwards, in 2007, and having completed the recording of their first studio LP, Hop Frog would go through several changes: On one hand, Turok, drummer and former band co-founder quit the group, with Poh becoming the new band´s percussionist.
On the other hand, Diego heads off to study in the USA and leaves the lead guitar position vacant.
Mario Shoo (Shoolins´leader) would replace Diego in live performances.
Live shows would continue with Mario in the lead guitar and Poh in the drums.
During 2007, Hop Frog participated in Femina Rock Fest and travelled to Donostia/San Sebastián, performing with local Basque band Nuevo Catecismo Católico.
Autumn 2007 has found Hop Frog working arm to arm with producer Anne Paranoid on the last arrangements of the groups first LP.
“We´re taking our time”, Taty says, “because we want to make sure that this record sounds as strong as a bomb”.
“We´re sure our work won´t leave anybody indifferent”.
