Detailed description is 夏泊半島（なつどまりはんとう）は青森県中央部、陸奥湾に突き出た半島。津軽半島と下北半島に挟まれた陸奥湾の中で、この半島から東を野辺地湾、西を青森湾に分断する。半島部は奥羽山脈から連なってできた夏泊山地が海岸部まで差し迫っており、沿岸は風光明媚な海岸線が広がる。全域が東津軽郡平内町の町域となっている。青森市から近いため、釣り場や海水浴、キャンプ場など日帰りの観光地として人気が高い。また、半島西部、基部には浅虫温泉（青森市）がある。自然全域が浅虫夏泊県立自然公園の指定区域。西海岸は海食作用による海食崖が見られる。一方、東海岸（椿山海岸）は椿の北限自生地として有名であり、約1万本ものヤマツバキが自生、国の天然記念物となっている。半島付け根にある浅所海岸は白鳥の渡来地として有名であり、“小湊のハクチョウおよびその渡来地”として国の天然記念物に指定されている。地質先第三系の立石層（夏泊層）（チャート・石灰岩・凝灰岩）を不整合に中新世の地層が覆う。中新世の地層としては、火砕岩、火山角礫岩、凝灰岩、溶岩などからなる。産業上記に挙げた観光産業のほか、漁業が盛ん。とりわけ、ホタテ貝の養殖が盛んであり、平内町は国内随一の帆立貝産地として著名である。
