Detailed description is My name is Greg Grimshaw, .
My story started in 1960 in Carmel California where I was born into the greatest home God could have provided for me.
My Father and Mother where wonderful parents and did all they could for my 2 older brothers, older sister and I to teach us to be God fearing, and responsible human beings.
We lived in a beautiful part of the world.
My childhood was wonderful and happy.
As children we were taught to be responsible, polite, hard working and always trust in God, or higher power.
.
.
I had many circumstances at a young age looking back that were interesting.
I recall my grandmother living in her car with many cats.
I had several uncles on both sides of the family that were always very funny and acted goofy.
I had one uncle drive into a large tree and completely destroy himself.
I also recall another relative taking an overdose of pills and drinking to much alcohol which took her life.
I was at a young age witnessing many odd issues I did not understand.
The issues I witnessed were related to alcohol..
.
As the years went by and family members would marry, or die we would attend the ceremonies as a family.
We also would visit relatives for dinners and birthdays.
On most of these occasions there was alcohol present.
I recall people becoming very funny.
As I have grown up and recognize exactly the dysfunction in these peoples lives I completely get it.
I have faced all the same issues over the years as my relatives before me.
Out of all of us kids I was the one that did the experiencing and screwed up many things about my life..
.
At the age of 18, I went to my first kegger party.
I loved the feeling of freedom beer gave me.
I thought I could fly, or jump 100 feet high.
I struggled with a very low self esteem.
Moving into the 7th grade was a challenge.
I started my life time challenges with stomach issues and diarrhea problems in 7th grade.
When I drank on these few occasions at 18, all my anxiety, fear, and low self esteem went away.
At the age of 19 I went on a 2 year mission for my church.
Due to all the before mentioned challenges my mission ended six months early.
My life was a complete mess due to ulcerate collides, diarrhea constantly, pain, and anxiety.
I got married at 21, and worked very hard to provide for my new family.
We had a baby just 1 year into the marriage.
My sickness increased and I just learned how to live with chronic diarrhea..
.
At the age of 25 I was ready for a major change in my life.
I moved my family to Anchorage Alaska where my wife was from.
I started a brand new business there doing cabinetry and countertops.
It was extremely challenging for all of us.
One day I poked my head into a shady place that sucked me in like a huge vacuum.
I made friends in this wild and crazy bar, drinking, shooting pool and just hanging out being an idiot.
This life style became a several day a week ordeal for me.
I would try to be home by 6 or 7 and be partially sober.
.
.
I skirted around for a couple years doing this.
I was addicted to drinking beer and hanging out with scanky women.
One day the deck of cards came tumbling down, I could not live the lie any longer.
I went to my clergy and came clean.
I was excommunicated from the church that meant everything to me.
I completely deserved this.
A few more years of drinking and acting like an idiot before I got my membership back.
.
.
I built businesses and did very well making a living.
At age 36 I moved to Idaho to semi retire on the sale of my company in Anchorage.
At 40 I experienced my first divorce, at 41 I went through another divorce and at 54 My final divorce.
At 52 I had an extremely serious motor cycle accident which landed me 10 days in the hospital.
After this stay I became very depressed and lonely.
I turned to alcohol, and oxycodone I was taking for pain and xanix for anxiety.
This was the kiss of death.
My health deteriorated fast.
I was in the hospital 6 months after the wreck having my colon removed due to ulcerative collides.
.
.
I turned to alcohol for a solution to my depression and illness.
On May 16th 2015 I had hit my bottom and could no longer live this nightmare.
I had gotten 3- DUI's, I also got into 2 car wrecks while drunk.
I was done closing down the bars and driving home drunk.
My church gave up all hope in me and turned there back on me.
.
.
Today I am 10 months sober and free of drug and alcohol addiction.
I gave myself to programs and to my God/Higher power above, to clean up my wreckage.
Alcoholics Anonymous, and an out patient drug and alcohol treatment center, an AA sponsor, and working in the big book doing the 12 steps saved my life.
I live today a quality of life that is incredible.
Life still comes at me sideways and can be extremely challenging.
Although I now have the tools to combat life's issues clean and sober.
.
.
I have regained respect and love with my children and my former spouse.
I am far better friends with my former wife than while we were married.
I still face many problems with my clergy.
He will not believe that I am sober.
In fact he has called me a liar.
That is OK.
I am dealing with that.
I am my own worst critic and enemy on this journey of life.
Like it has been said to me, it is not my business to be concerned what others may say about me.
The longer I travel this path of sobriety I recognize that people that judge me have no program for life or living.
When everyone judged me and gossiped behind my back I turned to my program, my loving wonderful family, and the few friends that never gave up on me.
I love the saying, “Judge ye not lest ye be not judged” .
.
One last experience I had was living with the Sioux Indians for 1-1/2 years during my mission.
I saw things and was involved with crisis on a daily basis.
You would have thought after all I had experienced I would have never touched alcohol or drugs.
I witnessed 7 year old children stuffing rags down broken down cars just to get gas on the rag to huff.
I saw families and individuals torn apart in all walks of life and ages.
I saw suicides all the time.
I personally was commissioned to dig the grave for a new born baby that died of fetal alcohol poisoning.
I saw many wonderful talented people turn to drugs and alcohol and completely destroy there lives.
.
.
I have taken my life experiences and knowledge to a whole new level.
By becoming a Recovery Coach I now can help others that are trying to help themselves.
I have many years experience working with others in all walks of life.
Somebody that has had real live experience in the trenches of addiction, illness, divorce, depression, and many other issues I believe is better equipped at helping others with similar problems.
Councilors, social workers, and physiologists typically got there education out of books and from lectures from professors.
I have had very few professional people with degrees have much advise on the subject.
What I learned was finding a true understanding friend to talk to was the best cure for my challenges at that moment.
.
.
Have you ever just needed a friend to talk to that has had similar experiences in life? A person you know you could trust to never divulge your secrets and issues that you share? Why not give this a shot.
“The only risk in life is the one not taken” Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life..
.
I am available Monday-Friday from 6:00 AM Pacific time, to 6:00 PM Pacific time.
My sessions start on the hour and run for 55 minutes.
I charge $30.00 per session payable through Pay-Pal, or through my Facebook account.
.
.
Our sessions will be on Facebook messenger.
You will need a PC or smart phone.
Facebook Messenger is where we talk.
Thank you for your interest and time, I hope to meet you very soon.
Have an awesome day..
Greg Grimshaw
