Detailed description is When Madelene's little brother went through 3 years of cancer treatment, she felt left out.
Now 14, she has a program that offers fun outings to siblings.
Hi I am Madelene Kleinhans and this is how Heartfelt Hugs began....

A few weeks before Easter when I was 8, my little brother began complaining of pain in his legs.
On Easter morning, he told me he was too tired to collect eggs and plopped down on a bench outside to watch me gather up his candy.
This was NOT typical behavior for a 5 year old and two days later, my mom took him to the pediatrician.
She decided to do a blood test and a couple hours later, our family received a call that would forever change our lives, my brother Addison had cancer.

Now, I am 15 years old but I first had the idea to help siblings of critical illnesses when I was 10.
My mom and I wanted to put a chest full of donated toys for the sibling in the Children's hospital where my brother was being treated, but they just did not have the room.
After that we had a lot of people who wanted to donate toys, tickets, passes, money, and even their own time to help volunteer.
So then we knew that we could not just give up on the whole idea.
That is when I came up with the idea of having a support group for siblings of critically ill children! Now I have group under the umbrella of the wonderful non-profit, There With Care, and a lot of new friends!.

We are always looking for little items to put in our goody bags (they can be things left from company trade shows or whatever), small toys for ages 8-16 siblings, donations of tickets to movies, bowling, skating, etc.
