Harvey Perdue has been a singer, songwriter, and musician all of his life.
He recorded his first album at 12 and went on to work with gospel great Henry Slaughter, and later, rock legend Gary S.
Paxton.
Harvey worked with the Grand Ole Opry from 1982 until the mid-2000's and still keeps in touch with some of his good friends today.
He's had five number one songs in country and gospel music, his most famous single being a song entitled "America, You're Too Young to Die." This higher calling led him to take a leap of faith and start Harvey Perdue Ministries shortly after the passing of his beloved wife of 26 years, Delores.
For the past four years, Harvey and daughter, Jenny Jo, took care of Delores, who suffered from cancer and short-term memory loss from viral meningitis.
Through this, the family's faith stood strong.
Delores passed away August 17, 2013, leaving Harvey and Jenny Jo brokenhearted.
In spite of the grief and sadness, Harvey felt that God was taking him a new direction.
Harvey pastors Cowboy Church of Hot Springs in Hot Springs, Arkansas, but he felt that God wanted him to minister during the week as well.
He received a call about the tent, and he knew then that the tent ministry was the new direction in which God would be taking him in.
Harvey had been in the tent ministry in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
He's traveled with tent ministers as well, but this is the first new tent he has ever owned.
God gave him a brand-new tent built by Miami Missionary Tent Company.
Once the tent was finished, God provided a mini bus, a truck, and a new sound system.
This is a new venture, yet a return to an old-time move of God.
Just as John the Baptist prepared the way for Jesus, Harvey feels he is preparing others for the return of our soon coming king.
