About Me....
I started practising Yoga just over Twenty years ago after it was suggested to me as a more effective tool to improve my posture and strength, rather than pumping iron at a gym.
I had suffered with thoracic spinal problems for a few years due to poor posture and stiff, tight muscles.
The fact that I am a hairdresser who is six feet tall would undoubtedly have been adding to the problem..
So off I went to my first Yoga class.
The teacher was great and really knew her stuff.
I was hooked!.
Since that time my spinal problems have been resolved and I have gone from strength to strength-literally! In time I discovered a teacher called Lyn Edwards who had trained with many well-known and experienced teachers worldwide, including BKS Iyengar.
After practising with Lyn for five years, I embarked upon a teacher training course with the Australian College oh classical Yoga.
I have now been teaching for about seven years..
Yoga has transformed my life- both mentally and physically.
While raising a family and living through the ups and downs of life, my one constant has been Yoga.
It has helped me to keep my life balanced and grounded.
I have practised many styles of yoga and now incorporate the best elements in my classes.
A general class includes meditation, asana (postures), pranayama (breathing) and Yogic Philosophy and Savana( relaxation).
My belief is that everyone should practise Yoga for optimum physical and mental health and wellbeing.
