Detailed description is This is the Facebook page for the Harlan Community School District Band program.
The Harlan Community Band Program starts in the Intermediate school with 5th grade band.
The 5th grade band performs on two concerts per year and students have the opportunity to perform a solo for the annual in-house contest.
The 5th grade band is directed by Tom Cronin.

The Middle School bands consist of the 6th grade band, 7/8 concert band, 7/8 marching band, and 7/8 jazzband.
The middle school concert bands perform two concerts per year and attends the Denison Middle School Large Group Contest.
The 7/8 concert band also performs for the Veteran's Day and Memorial Day programs.
The HCMS Jazz Band performs at 3-4 contests annually and also performs on the HCS Jazz Concert in November and HCS Jazz Dance in the April.
Middle school students have the opportunity to perform a solo or be in an ensemble for our in-house festival.
7/8 band members also have the opportunity to audition for the SWIBA Middle School Honor Band.

The Harlan Community High School Bands consist of concert band, marching band, jazz band, and pep band.
In addition, students also have the opportunity to audition for All-State, honor bands, and participate in the IHSMA Solo/Small Ensemble Festival.
