It all began with a small group of investors in February of 1976, and in early May a new building was under construction..
The original goal for Grandeur was to compete in the market by building a high quality product, which has always continued as the main goal.
As time has passed, additional goals have evolved along with the Grandeur product.
Adding new products while maintaining a commitment to quality has continuously created new markets for Grandeur, expanding our horizons greatly..
At the beginning, each Grandeur model was individually inspected by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA).
In 1985 Grandeur was granted plant certification, eliminating the need for individual inspection.
This meant that CSA no longer needed to send an inspector for each model, but Grandeur had implemented a quality control system that ensures each unit is built to CSA standards.
This change allowed Grandeur to be more accommodating in meeting the changing market demand for custom built homes, setting us apart from competitors and creating growth.
All Grandeur homes are still built to CSA standards, however inspections for homes are governed by QAI (Quality Auditing Institute).
Building custom homes was an opportunity to operate in a niche market that other builders did not want to enter.

In 2006, Grandeur developed a playhouse project which consisted of building and raffling off two Children’s playhouse’s with all the proceeds going toward Big Brothers/Big Sisters in Winkler and Morden.
Many of our suppliers assisted with the project by donating materials for the construction of the playhouses and Grandeur employees donated their time to the construction.
Together we raised over $27,000 for BBBS that will be used in helping their organization share a little magic with the kids of our community.
In 2008, Grandeur decided to pursue the playhouse project again, this time building one cabin themed playhouse with all proceeds going to Winkler Bible Camp.
Almost $20,000 was raised for the camp, allowing them extra funding for programming needs.
Grandeur has also taken part in the development of Winkler’s Bethel Heritage Park, a park meant to reflect on the history of the community and the people and events which have made Winkler what it is today.
Grandeur also makes a commitment to the community in several other ways, donating to various charities throughout the year and contributing to the growing city of Winkler and surrounding areas..
