Detailed description is Devoted to the training of future speech-language pathologists, especially in service delivery to young children with hearing loss & their families Launched in 2012 in cooperation with The University of Toledo, the Graduate Studies Consortium in Listening and Spoken Language (GSCLSL) is designed to increase the knowledge and skills of graduate students in Speech-Language Pathology in service delivery to young children with hearing loss and their families.
As its name entails, students enrolled receive extensive experience in facilitating listening and spoken language with children with hearing loss.
Parent coaching is essential, and students learn how to provide family-centered intervention where the parent is the primary facilitator of language.
As well, students gain invaluable experience providing in-person, center-based services as well as those delivered through telepractice.
