Gracehill House History.
Gracehill House was built in c.1775 by King James Stuart, who named it after his wife, Grace Lynd.
King James, who sadly died on his way to Ireland when his ship sank in the treacherous Irish Sea, passed the estate onto his grandson, William Stuart.
It then remained in the Stuart family for many years.
In 1872 James Stewart Irwin was the owner.
