We strive to produce items that are pure and free of the additives.
Four years ago Tom and I (J'nell) embarked on our journey into self sufficient farming and living.
We started out small, with just a garden for our own winter provisions.
As the years progressed, we have expanded..
We first started our Vegetable Stand.
We offer many organically fresh fruits and vegetables at very reasonable prices.
Our garden expanded year after year.
We now boast a 1/2 acre garden, in which we grow large quantities of all your garden favorites..
We decided last year we would love to raise chickens and have farm fresh eggs.
We built a chicken coop and acquired 18 laying hens and one rooster.
We offer farm fresh eggs on a daily basis!.
Spring of 2011 brought baby ducklings to our ever growing family! They also lay eggs which are great for baking!.
In March 2011, inspired by "The Beekman Boys" on Planet Green, we added a barn and 3 Beekman Goats to our growing menagerie! They will eventually provide us with creamy milk for cheeses, soap and personal enjoyment..
March 2011 also started our real submersion into self sufficient life.
I was reading "Little House In the Big Woods" to my second graders.
I shared with Tom a chapter on maple syrup production.
That is all it took.
We had to make our own! Tom spent much time in the woods, tapping trees and gathering sap.
We boiled down, over a wood fire, enough sap to yield 6 gallons of maple syrup! We will be offering our maple syrup to customers in the near future!.
By summers start, we chose to expand our homestead even more, adding an apiary with 5 boxes/40 frames.
By fall, we were harvesting our own honey and bees wax!.
In the fall, we decided we wanted a homespun soap, free of preservatives and additives.
We now make and sell soaps from various base and essential oils..
We are also making lip balms and cuticle creams from all natural ingredients.
We will be expanding our product line as we continue on..
Candle making fell naturally into our routine as bee enthusiasts.
We offer bees wax candles and tapers of varying shapes and sizes..
Our root cellar holds many of our homegrown crops during the winter.
We are blessed to have enough sweet potatoes, potatoes, squash, and onions to get us through until garden season next year!.
We make many other canned products such as jam, jelly, salsa, hot sauce, pickled beets, tomato sauce and pizza sauce.
These products get us through the winter, minimizing our grocery bills..
We also have started an orchard that will produce bountiful fruit in years to come.
We have 40 apple trees, peach trees, pear trees, blueberry plants.
and plum trees..
We hope to have the beginnings of a self sustainable homestead and Farmers Market in the years to come.
