Berawal dari sebuah stasiun televisi lokal di Jakarta, Global TV belakangan meluaskan siaran ke 5 kota besar lainnya.Global TV memiliki hak siar atas liga balap paling bergengsi di dunia, Formula 1 setelah sebelumnya hak siar Formula 1 dimiliki TPI (sekarang MNCTV), dan kejuaraan dunia balap antar negara, A1.
