GIA stands for the unity and amalgamation of Indian Associations around the globe along with its own crystal clear objectives of serving the Indian Diaspora in a multi pronged way with diversified approaches.
Personally, from the very beginning of my teen age I was groomed as a social activist with a clear vision in World Peace and Human Rights.
In 1988, at the age of 17, my experiences during World Tour on Bi-Cycle to sensitize the world leaders and general public about the urgent need of the co existence of Peace & Disarmament for world development and poverty alleviation, which was flagged off by the former President of India His Excellency Dr.
Shankar Dayal Sharma, alarmed me to work for the Indians fallen as the victims of apathy and draconian laws in alien countries and languishing in jails.
My stint as an NRI for 10 years in Dubai (1996-2006) instilled a sense of humanitarian and holistic service paradigm to the Overseas Indians, paved way for initiating and launch Global Indian Association (GIA)..

Researches reveal the astounding number of Indians in jails in alien countries and most of them are the victims of apathy from both Indian and the respective countries.
Here GIA sees the significance to act in as possible ways to extend legal and other helps besides bring up the matter to the Indian authorities and pressurize the Indian authorities and the foreign embassies in Delhi for the intervention in the right path to ensure justice for the hapless Indians.
Also GIA has planned a number of developmental initiatives for the Overseas Indians around the world..

At present, GIA is functioning from a rented office in Delhi, but negotiations are going on with Government of Delhi to provide land for GIA to construct permanent Headquarters.
As GIA is an International body expecting wider participation of Indians around the world, it is the need of the hour to have a well equipped infrastructure and administrative set up at the GIA Headquarters to handle various departments of GIA assisted by a considerable number of experts..
GIA will provide legal assistance for innocent prisoners in foreign jails and will extend help to the families of these people.
There are many Indians jailed in foreign countries.
Most of them find it difficult or sometimes impossible to get a legal way out.
They are not even provided with proper legal aid to place their case before law.
Future for them is like standing on the edge of an abyss.
GIA is committed to provide possible support..

It is true that organizations based abroad has limitations while taking up cases.
They have to comply with the law of the land there.
But being centered in Delhi, GIA has the advantage of free involvement.
through government agencies and coordinate with organisations abroad to find amicable solutions to such issues..

AIMS & OBJECTIVES OF GIA.
