Detailed description is Gloabl Health Scholars in Internal Medicine In 2007, Washington University Department of Internal Medicine began providing international experiences in Bhutan and Eritrea to nurture residents with Global Health interests.
Dr.
David Windus coordinated these educational experiences which were sponsored by Dr.
Jack Ladenson.
Residents participating in these rotations reported positive impact on their sensitivity to social and cultural factors that influence health outcomes.
Sustained interest in these international experiences has led to the creation of Global Health Scholars in Internal Medicine.
