Detailed description is O Gelasal é um grupo de pesquisa, instituído no Curso de Letras da Universidade Federal de Alagoas (UFAL), Campus Sertão.
Compreendemos que o ensino na graduação se realiza paralelamente a investigações acadêmicas, pesquisas que são atreladas às discussões teóricas, no sentido de possibilitar aos acadêmicos não apenas a reprodução dos conceitos e das conclusões apresentadas pelos pesquisadores estudados, mas, para além disso, também a reflexão sobre objetos empíricos, aqueles direcionados ao seu campo de atuação profissional.
Logo, podemos afirmar que um dos papéis do ensino superior é corroborar ao graduando, no Curso de Letras futuros professores, para que tenham a experiência da pesquisa, podendo se constituir como “professor pesquisador”, aquele com postura proativa na produção do conhecimento científico.
Assim, esse grupo de pesquisa pretende possibilitar aos graduandos a experiência dessa postura proativa, associando os saberes da Ciência da Linguagem, em seus diversos ângulos, a diversos outros saberes necessários à interpretação do objeto elencado para o estudo, nesse caso, enunciações públicas que tenham como referente o sertão alagoano em sua territorialidade e modos de vida.
Nessa direção, propomos um grupo de estudos em Linguística Aplicada, denominado de Grupo de Estudos em Linguística Aplicada em Questões do Sertão Alagoano (GELASAL).
