Detailed description is A Gauderiada da Canção Gaúcha completa 35 anos em 2017.
O Festival que é um patrimônio do município, foi criado por Ramão Bonila e Lair Eich, que queriam a exemplo de outros municípios gaúchos, criar um festival nativista em Rosário do Sul, mas a principal inspiração foi a Califórnia de Uruguaiana, que foi a precursora.
Após se reunirem e discutirem a ideia e formato do evento faltava o nome, então o rosariense Artur Henrique dos Santos sugeriu Gauderiada, nome que virou marca da música nativista no Rio Grande do Sul.
Nos primeiros anos, a Gauderiada funcionava da seguinte forma: a apresentação das composições concorrentes acontecia no Ginásio Ervilhão, porém as tertúlias livres eram realizadas no Parque de Exposições, onde já havia também o acampamento crioulo como era chamado na época.
Anos mais trade, visando otimizar questões como infra-estrutura e agregar público maior ao evento, a Gauderiada se transferiu completamente para o Parque de Exposições onde é realizada até hoje.
Muitas canções marcaram esta história, como a clássica Manhãs, interpretada por Oristela Alves, Rodeio das Almas, interpretada por Luiz Marenco, Brincando de Gato Cego, Elegia ao Pássaro Cantor do rosariense Joel de Freitas Paulo, entre outras tantas, como Presença interpretada por Antonio Gringo, Caverá História e Saudade, e mais recentemente Agora Chora Cordeona, Alguém Mateia Comigo entre outras tantas composições.
Grandes nomes do nativismo estiveram neste palco, que a cada janeiro se ilumina e se renova com novos talentos, novas canções, novas emoções.
Por sua importância e relevância na cultura do estado, a Gauderiada expandiu seus horizontes com a Gauderiada Mirim, que vai para sua 27ª edição, revelando talentos para a musica riograndense.
