Detailed description is Since 1995 the GIPRC has created 31 Shore/Beach Accesses, 4 Community Parks, assumed responsibility for the Galiano Skate Board Park, the Sturdies Bay Trail.
The GIPRC was created in 1995 as an agency of the Capital Regional District(CRD) with the power to "acquire, develop, operate and maintain .
community parks within the (Galiano) electoral area".
Eight Commissioners are appointed for 2 yr terms with the SGI CRD Director also serving as a member.
The Commission meets on the 1st Thursday of every month @ 8:30am in the Galiano Island Trust/CRD Office located at Sturdies Bay, 23 Madrona Dr.
The public is invited to attend.
