La FUNDACIÓN SEXPOL es una entidad creada en 1984 como entidad benéfico-social adscrita al Protectorado del Ministerio de Trabajo y Asuntos Sociales, con el nº de Registro 28-0827.
Fue clasificada como Fundación Benéfico-Asistencial por Orden Ministerial de fecha 7 de Octubre de 1986..

Es miembro fundador de la Federación Española de Sociedades de Sexología (F.E.S.S., 1981), la Federación Europea de Sexología (E.F.S., 1989) y la Unión Nacional de Asociaciones Familiares.

También es miembro de la Asociación Mundial de Sexología (W.A.S., 1985) y la propia Federación Española de Sociedades de Sexología..
