Detailed description is The Friends of the Depot committee was founded to support the Depot Commission in their efforts to restore the historic train depot in Wallace, NC.
The Friends of the Depot was formed to support the Wallace Depot Commission.
The first undertaking was the restoration of the depot itself.
The building now houses the Wallace Chamber of Commerce office, a Museum with train memorabilia, a model train room, the Learning Station, conference room and stage area.

After the building was rested, a caboose was acquired and restored.
Since then, a boxcar and Railroad Postal Car have been acquired.
The boxcar will be repainted soon, and part of it will be used for storage..
